to all...here are a couple of pics of the depot in glendale az. & also a short summery of it's history.

i was going to scratch build this structure but , one day when i was on ebay, i found this plasticville model that is very close to the prototype. so i thought for $10.00 i would take a chance. when i received the kit, i was surprised to see it was a snap together kit. i painted the kit close to the prototype, built the loading dock, built the enclosures the electrical cabinet & antenna equipment. ( i just ordered the antenna) although this depot is only used for MOW i thought i would add it to my layout

The modern Glendale, AZ depot was boarded up but still standing when this photo was taken in 1998. The structure's build date has not been researched, but John Sayre's The Santa Fe Prescott & Phoenix Railway: The Scenic Line of Arizona indicates that its predecessor, a brick depot built in 1910, was retired in 1967. The depot's architecture is very similar to the one constructed at Williams Junction, AZ in 1959. Since this photo was taken, the building has been repainted and is in use by BNSF maintenance of way crews.

Weather it

Makes all the difference in the world and then put in the scene. Their is nothing shinny on a RR.

...

I'd cover as many windows - at least the upper portions - as you can, it will make those windows go away...

Glendale Depot

Vinny: The only part of the station I find inaccurate is the roof line on the ends. They should be gable types, but still a good stand in structure. Yours, Elvin Howland
