D&RG ALCO PA1 Lighting

Does anyone know if the D&RG used a Mars Light on their PA's? If so, which light was the Mars Light? I am about to put decoders in my Kato PAs for my California Zephyr and would also like to change the lights if prototypical. Not an easy task on the Kato PA but I would like to try if it would be correct. Any help that folks might have would be appreciated. Thanks. MC

While I'm no expert on
While I'm no expert on Alco's, if the lower headlight is mounted in a door, like on an F unit, then the Mars light would be the upper headlight, as the door wouldn't really be strong enough to hold the mechanism for the light, however, if the Alco doesn't have a door on the middle of the nose like EMD's would, then its possible that the Mars mechanism is in the lower light.
