The Boxes...

When I was working on the chess set box, I ran across these little two bin jewelry boxes at Micheals.  They're the right size for my workbench.

Now I figure one drawer will not be enough, so I'm going to do some work on the second and pin it under the second, so then I'll have three drawers instead of one.

Deconstruction

The top dividers are nice, but I have a different layout already in mind.  Thus, I ripped it all out.

Now here's the plan; the top deck will hold wrenches, a screwdriver set, and perhaps some other useful tools.  the drawer will hold the tap and drill sets, each in a cannister from Exact Blades, at least, I think that will be the plan.

My Forward stage will contain a sheet of brass with the reference sets, and a scale will float above it.

To cut my sheet brass, I gave this little unit from Harbor Freight a whirl.  It's going right back, it has no power, and the deck is piss poor in every regard.  I did get my sheet brass cut [0.32], but I wouldn't do it again.

There's the top deck, all laid out.  My brass section may be  bit big, but we'll see what it's like once I get the layout for the various sections done.  I'll probably going to have a drill/tap reference right on the sheet, along with a hole reference for as many drill bit sizes as I can get ahold of.  I have the nuts and bolts, now I just need time...
