Ok, last try :

In two weeks time now, myself and a group of 5 other Norwegian model railroad enthusiasts are traveling to the US to visit the east coast, and different railroad related sights in and around New York, Washington, Maryland, Pennsylvania etc.

My dream is to be able to visit a couple of nice home layouts during our stay. Are there any layout tours in the period between the 4th and the 12th of October? Or would anyone here like to welcome us into their home for a brief visit?

We are all experienced model railroaders, but most of us has never really seen a real nice, large, US style home layout "in the flesh". I know it's maybe a tall order to welcome 6 complete strangers into ones home, but I can assure you that we are all friendly, and smell nice

A couple of pictures from two home layouts among our group :

If anyone would like to contact me "off forum", my mail address is : post@autoclassic.no

Wish I Could Help

I'd welcome you guys to stop by, but I'm about 2,000 miles from where you'll be!  Those photos from your group really look great.

Stunning photos! Looks like some great layouts! Like Rob, I'm on the wrong coast of the US to help you out.

Sorry...

but I don't think you guys are coming far enough west for a visit- I'm in Cincinnati. I'll second the comments about some beautiful looking layouts. If your group ever gets to the Midwest, let me know. There are a number of great layouts in the Cincinnati area.

This might precede your trip

If you can adjust your start time, you might consider this:

[topic:id=9025]

The meet is on 29 Sept. - not a home layout, but might get you some contact where you can then make arrangements for layout visits.

Have any of you ever visited the US before?

I ask, because a few years back (2006, if I recall correctly), I met a few of your fellow countrymen at an NMRA national convention, a great bunch of chaps, I might add. Just wonderin' if I might have met some of you before, that's all. Not only that, but I grew up in a part of New Jersey called "Lake Telemark"! Hows that for coincidence?

I don't think anyone among our little group has been to a NMRA convention, but I know a couple of guys here that have been several times.
