Now that we have so many forum postings that go on for several pages, I find that I always have to scroll to the BOTTOM of the first page, to get a link to the latest last page. The topic always opens at the first page.

Would it be a good idea to DUPLICATE the inter-page links at the TOP of each page as well as the BOTTOM? I don't think it would be a big job to make as a global change.

Not in this version of Drupal

Believe me, we've looked into this! This version of Drupal doesn't know how many pages there are until it's loaded the first page completely. To fix this so it knows ahead of time would take considerable custom code and will slow down page loads noticeably. It's really a defect of this version. The next version of Drupal corrects this - we hope to move to it eventually.

The "End" Key...

One press and you are at the end of the page, no scrolling needed.  It's been working for me since the start.

But also

If you click on the "New" link on the right, it takes you to the first new post automatically.  I only ever have to use the End key when I open a topic (like my blog) that nobody has posted in since my last visit.
