MRH website outage from 6:30 am PDT to 9:30 am PDT

Mon, 2012-07-30 09:47 — _site_admin
MRH website experienced an approximately 3 hour outage this morning. Our host provider had to perform emergency maintenance on our server, but we're back up now.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Periodic access errors
I understand the original problem occurred on Monday morning, 30 July, but ...
Either the host provider needs more maintenance or the MRH site traffic has become so great that it is periodically overwhelmed. Today I have been getting many 503 errors, mostly in going to "recent posts".

503 Errors - Alien Attack
I wonder if it has anything to do with the increasing number of new alphabet soup named subscribers we seem to be getting lately ...
503's
I've gotten a lot of 503 recently too. I was hoping it was traffic from a lot more people discovering MRH.

503 errors
So if I understand this right, the site still works, but you're getting a 503 message in the menu bar on the right?
That's our online counter throwing errors. More annoying than anything serious.

No, Joe
A white page with a message at the top about the 503 and try later

When the 503 error is displayed I see it in the main display area, the menu bar still show MRH url I am trying to contact. In most cases to get it to disappear, I have to refresh the screen. One time I had to move to a non MRH url and start over again.

It just happened to me at 11:08pm CST.
I just got the 503 error again. Service Temporarily Unavailable. I had to load a yahoo page to get back to MRH.

We're moving to a new server
Talked to our ISP and they said they're migrating everyone to new hardware and the 503's will continue for the next day or so until they get everything moved.
So hang in there ...

Tolerance
'tis tolerable, Joe. If it keeps up for much longer, though, I may ask for a refund
Thanks much for "being on it" and the wonderful experience I get from the Mag and forum.
