O scale small Steam Locomotive that runs as good as the On30 stuff

I have an On30 layout that I will be adding some standard gauge track to for an interchange as well as a visual impact aid to show just how diminutive the narrow gauge Rolling Stock really is. I am looking for a good operating locomotive that is relatively small. I have seen a Little River 2-4-4-2 by NJ International, and a Casper Lumber ”Sampson" 2-6-6-2 by Sunset on E-bay. The other small one I have found is new, an SP Mogul also by Sunset. Anyone out there have experience with the running characteristics of these 3? Thanks,
Peter
