Good pictures

I especially like the WM engines.  You could even add more 2-8-0's as helpers.

It sure LOOKS like Western Maryland

The area where the WM used to run is really scenic, and it looks like you've captured it well - especially lots of churches visible against the hills (Cumberland, Frostburg, etc.)  Nice job!

Where do you live, Mike?

If there is an MRH reader/writer nearby, you might get your wish!

I'm an Appy Guy, and

I'm an Appy Guy, and specifically a WM guy. Anything that looks close puts a smile on my face, guaranteed. Some WM, some C&O, some B&O, N&W, etc etc. Shoot, you even have Southern! Works for me. N scale has come a long way. Lee Weldon is a good friend and his WM layout is N scale and quite realistic. Longer trains were typical of WM on the Thomas Sub up Blackwater Canyon grade.

The modeling looks good too.

It's Appy, I'm happy!

Nice photos.

When I look at your photos I remember the Reid brothers layout in N scale.  Did they have any influence on your layout?

Some of them should be in the, "Yes, it's a model" category.  They are that good!

Thanks

Den, I think I remember the Reid bros, but any influence is unintentional ( I think ). Its very loosely based on the concept that  a railroad could have run through the little town where I used to live.

Dan, I got the backdrops at a train show. They are one of those commercial lines that are fairly innexpensive, probably 10 bucks each. Not sure if they are still made, but you might try EZScenes here http://www.railserve.com/Models/Manufacturers/Scenery_Backdrops/

Not much to the whole layout, Mike, but sinse you asked.....
