Arrghh! While doing some trackwork yesterday, I noticed one of my HO code 75 Peco turnouts was malfunctioning. When I tried to fix it I dislodged the center spring even worse. I managed to pry up the tabs and remove the spring cover and even to keep the spring from flying away. That is until tonight when I attempted to repair the turnout. Spring now has gone SPROING!!!  and is nowhere to be found.  I've seen some post from UK modelers indicating that packs of the little buggers are a common item at hobby shops across the pond but I was wondering if anyone knew of a US source? I'm probably eventually going to go to either Tortoise or servo control of some or all of my turnouts and most likely will be removing the springs anyway but for now  I am relying them to hold the points and would like to replace this one on my lovely 21 dollar curved turnout!

My suggestion is to Google

My suggestion is to Google "Peco U.S sales" and you may be directed to a dealer in the states that has them or can get them for you other wise I believe you are S.O.L. Good Luck

Dan

P.S. I did some searching and found out Peco has a Technical Advice Bureau and if you E-Mail them they may be able to direct you to a U.S supplier or Hobby shop that you can order the springs from. See Following :

info@pecobeer.co.uk

I hope this may set you on track to finding your springs. Not meaning to be rude or start a heated discussion but,

I Highly suggest you not mess with the springs in Peco turnouts unless your in a closed room with white seamless flooring, Bright lights, and 4 people watching your every movement as you fool with the springs. BONG PING ZIP YE HAW .

Thanks

I will try the E-mail. I had seen reference to the advice bureau by some of our UK friends and how Peco will send a pack of the springs "free of charge" but I'm sure that's to them and not across the pond. As I said, I'm 99% sure I will be using some type of servo or tortoise on these eventually which would mean removing the spring anyway but wanted it back in there temporarily at least. They are tiny little buggers and with the mess my layout room is in right now , it probably was not the best idea to work on it here! If anybody else has any ideas or knows where they are available please let me know.

Thanks Peco!

Sent them an E-mail and they are sending me a pack of springs, their compliments! Guess you never know till you ask! Very cool of them to do so!
