A while back the Penn Western exchanged Electronic Railpasses (Epasses) with other model railroads from around the world. When I switched to another web host, I unfortunately let them lapse. I'd like to resume this interesting sideline of the hobby. If anyone would like to have one issued to them or to exchange epasses, just get in touch at royhoffman@yahoo.com Above is a sample of my new railpass and below is one of the 51 that I received. I originally issued 85 railpasses. I'll feature the railpasses I receive on my website.

pass exchange

Here's my sample, you've got it already, Roy.

But I'm in the mail pass exchange, too. That's even more interesting. You get a letter from someone in the world. With pass exchange you make new friends.

New Railpass

Wolfgang,

There seems to be much more interest in railpasses on a worldwide basis and not much domestically (USA). Your response is the only one I've received so far. Your original railpass was one of the ones that I lost, so would you be so kind as to issue me another one.

Thanks

Roy

Railpasses

Back in the 80's, here in the states what was very popular was exchanging rolling stock. I had ordered custom decals and the person that made the decals invited all his clients to exchange rolling stock and you get to keep the car for "x" amount of time, usually was from 2 weeks to a month and then you will ship it to another person. Every month you will get a new piece of rolling stock, photograph it on your layout and pass it on. It was a neat concept. By the end your car was all over the USA and it will come back to you with a bunch of photos .

Intechange car

Yes, I've participated in such a group too. It was fun. But with air mail over seas it got very expensive.

You see the pictures from my private roadname cars here at my Interchange cars site.

Roy, you've got an email with your e-railpass.

Interchange Cars

Wolfgang,

I remember seeing that at your website, which by the way it's fantastic.
