I am looking for a map photo's or information regarding the Arcata & Mad River railroad in Humboldt County.

specifically to do with the rail line or lines from the bridge crossing the Mad river just west of Blue Lake

Google earth has provided sufficient detail to make out the right of way thus far but nature has taken over again.

A little hard to do myself since I am in New Zealand.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

A few 1st thoughts

I have some pictures filed somewhere I'll look and see if I can find them.

There are very few maps out there of the A&MR that I have found.

I don't know if you know about this site but there are some good pictures here to see and the folks have a wealth of info for the NWP and the A&MR http://nwprr.net/. so it's worth joining them.  I know there are some Blue Lake pics there

Also these guys but there is a charge to join them  http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,2439098

http://brian894x4.com/ may also have some pictures too.  It's been a while since I went through his site.

Sorry I couldn't offer more, I have found so little out there on the A&MR.

In my world the the SP took over the Annie and Mary and headed out northeast from the Simpson mill to tie in with the rest of the world in Hornbrook, CA near the southern end of the Siskiyou line.

I am trying to head that way for a a day or two of picture taking of the area, hopefully this spring, and I'll make a post on the boards so folks can ask for me to look at areas that need photos.

Good luck in your quest

Steve
