hi all i have one of mth`s rather nice sd70ace the only problem is that will not  retain its cv programming i have set cv 29 to a value of 38 to get it to use its running number as an address but as soon as i remove power from the track it reverts to 3. The first one i got works fine but the new one is a bit of a problem child.

Has any one else had this happen i am programming with a dynamis pro which changes the cv and have used a decoder pro with a sprog which failed completely to do anything any help would be appreciated

many thanks

MTH and DCC troubles

I have a friend who has an identical loco, and I have had the exact same problem trying to program it for him.

I have tried my Digitrax Zephyr, his Digitrax Empire Builder Xtra, and my PR3 and Decoder Pro with the same results.

If you know someone who has the MTH DCS system, you might want to ask them if they can reprogram the address so it will stay. I don't know if this is possible or not. If there are any MTH users reading this it would be appreciated if you could confirm this.

My friend just bought another MTH SD70ACe, so next time I visit him, I'll try to program it and will report back.

Yes this is a know problem on

Yes this is a know problem on the first run of their Aces. I had to call MTH, and send it in and they fixed it under warranty.

So call MTH right now, and they will fix it. Also ask them while they have it, to upgrade the chip with the new capabilities with more access to CVs, like advanced consisting, sound levels, etc.

MTH Service

Michael,

Thank you for your post. I have an SD70M-2 that I would like to get the chip upgraded. I purchased the unit slightly used but it has the original circuitry on board. I have emailed MTH three times but i have yet to get a response as to if the new circuits were available or not. I guess all i needed to do was pick up the phone.
