While we all wait for Joe to finish the site server upgrades (and I think it's great that the launch of the e-zine was so successful as to prompt upgrades), I have been busily working on the layout.  I have a revised trackplan, incorporating the run-around track suggestion, as well as a revised yard ladder arrangement on segment 2.  I've also done some bad order inspections for my locomotives.  The older ones probably need s agood celaing out and re-greasing, and I have about 1/2 of my collection to add MT couplers to.  Good news is I have lots of locos to handle operating chores while I do the repair and upgrade of the others.  I've also started ripping the 3/4 inch plywood to construct the benchwork for segement 2.  And, to top if off, I have completed a christmas present form my in-laws - the kit version of Kate's Colonial.  It will become the farm house on the Larsen's farm portion of the layout.  WIth all thebuilding supplies out, I sarted work on my refinery.

And, as luck would have it (I'm not yet sure which kind, mind you), the tracks on Segment 2 and 3 of my plan now have a new "owner."  It seems that WATCO has lease dthe tracks to operate them as the Baton Rouge Southern railroad.   Thanks to the folks at Tigerrails, I even have a couple of shots of locomotives to think about painting.   SO, it remains busy on the new layout, and I'm having to rethink naming conventions all over again!
