Getting Small
Years ago I read an article in Model Railroader about a man who took a walking trip around his layout. On this trip he noted those things that looked realistic and un realistic. The thing that stood out in my mind the most was Ungrounded buildings. Ungrounded being that they seemed to hover in mid air at the base, floating several inches above. Now in the real world buildings are setting on foundations or right on the ground. Seldom hanging in mid air unless some force of mother nature had occurred. But I digress, I was fascinated by the thought of walking around my layout or rather "On" my layout. Now it is possible to do just that. WE can mount HD cameras in our locomotives and rolling stock which many of us have done. I want to go one step further and place myself in or near my locomotives. To walk around them, climb aboard them and to walk through my towns. So today I started playing around with the idea.
Here is a short movie on my first adventure. I got a long way to go but its a start. Oh, I also have my train room painted and will start the benchwork soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3qHaw9PCHY
