Once Upon A Time

Greetings. First time poster.

I was an employee at a well known model railroad company. I was given a nice piece of model railroad memorabilia by my boss. I'm hoping someone can help me more clearly identify this item.

It is packaged in a nice wooden box. Printed on it is:

Brawa

Der Hofzug der Koniglich-

Bayerischen-Staatsbahn. Etwas ganz

besonderes in hochster Qualitat

Der Salonwagen

Inside is a Brawa ID card, listing the item as #210, dated 6/7/1992

Also an instruction sheet and what appears to be a price quote: DM 460.00/$320

Attached is a photo of the item that I found on the internet.

Someone please clue me in to what i have?

Thank you and please excuse any breach of forum protocol that I may have violated.

Need help finding info on Brawa Der Salonwagen

OK, it's made by Brawa ( http://www.brawa.de/index.php?id=125&L=1), a German manufacturer -- high quality, but a bit fragile.

The Google translation is:

The Train-the Royal Bavarian State Railways. Something very special in high quality, the most saloon cars.

i.e. A special saloon wagon of the K.Bay.Sts.B.

The item is fairly old, and doesn't appear on-line (at Brawa's website). It was probably a "special" limited edition.

BTW, a pretty wagon!

Damon

Once Upon A Time

Thanks

Thank you for the reply, Damon. It looks very fragile. I've never actually taken it out of the box in fear of damaging it. I'm thinking of donating it the the Smithsonian Institute Hall of Rare and Fragile Stuff.
