Nice video

This is great. But I have one question. Who is this giant who keeps pocking his head into the scenery along the tracks?

How are you going to paint

How are you going to paint the scenery in that canyon off to the right at the end of the video? It looks like you've made it pretty inaccessible...

Giant

feldman718,

The giant is my 8 year old Matthew.   He like to run them when I have the section in the video operating.  He mainly plays with his Geotrax trains, though.

Wolf Creek (canyon)

Jeff,

That area has been hard to get to.  When doing the plaster cloth I had to work on a stool from the two isles on either side and over the back drop behind it.   The paint I’m using currently is just to help make it look descent before I start on the scenery (trees and ground cover).
About 25% of the layout is after the last bridge in the video and the track is being rebuilt due to some bad turnouts and track readjustment.

P.S. Thanks for being conductor at Joes...

Very cool.  There is something about reversing the perspective (train looking at people) that I find fascinating!!!

N I C E !! I wish My RR was this far along

Your Video is a great inspiration for me and looks like your doing it right. My Rio Grande Southern is only in the bench work stage and I have as yet laid any roadbed or track. I can hardly wait for the day I can send my first Engine and string of cars on their way to the end of the line. With only 3 weeks left until the Model-Railroad-Hobbyist releases Volume 1 I hope to have at least 50 feet of track laid to celebrate the day and arrive at my first station. Good luck and keep the Videos coming as you proceed with the scenery. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Stewart, The video camera is

Stewart,

The video camera is a  Canon FS100 that uses SD/SDHC flash memory.  I had it on a Athearn flat car.  I used Pinnacle Studio 10 to compress the video to reduce the file size.

Most ot my railroad equipment is Athearn bluebox/Ready  to run/Genisis (F3/F7) , Proto 2000 (SD7/9) and Bachmann (Steam Locomotives)

Dan, The current layout I

Dan,

The current layout I have been working on about 3 years now (first HO layout, had other scales before).  The biggest delay has been relaying sections of the track and fixing Atlas code 83 #6 switches that have there points going dead due to bad connections and the trestle which is now runable, but still needs some details to finished.  I just finished powering my two turntables last week one is a little finicky (Walter 90' kit).

Hope you meet your goal of finnishing your track.

John
