I was just watching how Joe built and installed the bridge at 10 Mile Creek and noticed that there appeared to some drips on the green fascia t the front after he installed the Envirotex and removed the masking tape dam he installed. I also noticed that in latter parts of this section on the DVD the fascia seems to cover the edge of the creek. Was this a new fascia or just a touch up of the old with green painted to hide the water?

Fascia

The fascia usually gets messed up with runs, drips, and whatever as a part of the scenery work. I don't get overly concerned with the mess because I'll fix it once all the work is done.

Once the scenery work is all done, I clean the fascia as best I can and repaint it with a fresh coat of paint. I just painted over the end of the envirotex water with the green paint to blend it in with the rest of the fascia. You can see the result in this photo (although it does look like the flat green painted fascia on the right has gotten some dust smudges - a damp cloth should take care of that ... )

Fascia

What did you use for the fascia? How did you cut it to match the profile of the scenery?

Video 4 and 5

Joe's video series, volumes 4 and 5, go through the entire scene very well, Irv.  He starts with the benchwork, lays the track and builds the scene step by step through the videos.  The fascia is pre-contoured the way he thought it should look, then the scenery added and connected to the fascia with a lining of caulk so you don't rip the scenery apart if you have to remove the fascia, you just cut through the caulk and pull the fascia off.
