OK, so i can get Details West locomotive parts from any online hobby shop that sells them until the cows come home . What i need is the rear light cluster for the SP units from Sunrise Enterprises and i can't find a soul that sells them or if they do, they are always out of stock. Any suggestions?  thank you,   chuck

No dice on Sunrise

Chuck,

Sad to say, Sunrise Enterprises is effectively out of the HO detail business.  Serious health issues for the owner (at a relatively young age).  That also impacted his signal business.  Sunrise still does a few etched parts, but the white metal castings such as the light cluster are long gone.  Too bad, as you note, Sunrise had a dandy SP rear light cluster.  Stay tuned to Details West, though.  They are supposed to be releasing one in the next few months.

Does anyone know if the owner

Does anyone know if the owner from Sunrise health improved and returned to detail business, or if the etched casting were sold to another company and continued in a different line?

I'm looking to start detailing SP SD-9E's and like Details West kits, but want a point of comparison.

No dice

I don't think he'll ever resume production of those parts himself.  I read sometime back that he's received several offers from people wanting to acquire the line and bring it back, but he's keeping it and has been trying to get his son to take it over.  Except his son's not interested.

Sunrise Enterprise

I am the etcher who did the etchings for Sunrise Enterprise.  We don't stock parts, we are a business to business enterprise.  However, if anyone is interested in working with us to convince Sunrise to get their parts back on the market, let me know.  EtchNow

Detail parts dilemna

Man,

There are some of us who still enjoy kitbashing and scratchbuilding. It is nice that the RTR lines come so nicely done, but I would really like to get some of my older stuff spiffied up.

Railpower shells come to mind. I like my SD80 and SD90 shells. Anyone know how to make the few small details for some of the intake grills or the fan?

TIA
