I am almost ready to start wiring the first section of my layout.  I have plenty of  three conductor #14guage wire to use for track buses, but I'm hesitant to start because I'm afraid I might have problems with inductive current scrambling my signal if I convert to DCC in the future.  Thanks in advance!

Unless you're running those

Unless you're running those busses over a long distance (like 50+ feet) I doubt you'd have much trouble with your DCC signals getting scrambled.

Why 3 conductor wire? Just what you have on hand?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I already had the 3-conductor, that's the only reason I'm using it.

Romex or twisted?

Is the three conductor wire the usual flat solid romex ( white, black, green or bare ) house wiring, or is it some sort of twisted stranded cable like heavy duty extension cord?  I'm just curious as it may be an option for me to look at vs. a spool of white solid and black solid wire.

It's House Wiring

The wire I have is White, Black, and bare wires inside a white outer insullation.  It is all solid #14 guage wire.

House wiring

Cool.  I've got some of that lying around.  For some reason it didn't even occur to me to strip that out and use it.  Go figure.

Thanks.
