I know I am trying to put too mush in my space for a solo project, but what the heck.

Here is the lower staging plan (95% complete).

Level 2 Bakersfeild to Bena California.

Level 3 Caliente and the Horse shoe curve.

Loop room adjacent to the train room with the multilevels.

The layout looks nice

Although, I am having trouble figuring out which track attaches where for the loop. Could you elaborate on which track from levels one and two goes where?

Looks Good

Looks good.

Having visited the real Loop and railfanned somewhat in Tehachapi and visited the La Messa Model Railroad Club's version of the Loop in San Diego, I think you have captured the feel and flavor of the area.

I particularly like the fact that you placed the Loop itself in a seperate room. It really is a show piece and deserves its own space where visitors attention won't be distraced by other parts of the layout.

Here is how the plan goes. I

Here is how the plan goes. I hope this helps.

Lower staging - It is a return loop for continuous running. The staging exits to the helix up to Bakersfeild.

Level 1 Bakersfeild (under construction) - exit from the helix to the right to Bakersfeild.  Around the room to the second helix. Enter the helix going up to Ilmon.

Level 2  - Exit helix to the right to Ilmon around to Caliente. Exit the room with the track running over the helix out to the left and the loop room.

Loop Room -  Exit (right corner) from the train room through the loop ( reading right to left) The train enter a tunnel at the left going into hidden track (unfortunately) this runs back into the train  room.

Level 3 Town of Tehachapi, Monolyth (cement) and the end of the route (staging).

Hope this helps.

Thanks George...

...thank you for the positive comments. Actually, I have tried my best, given the space I have, to encorporate the most interesting aspects of the route. I figure to be able to run trains that are 18 feet long,so I feel the effect should be pretty dramatic. Funny you mentioned La Mesa. I have been there several times, and I have used their track plan for my inspiration.

And I agree with you that the "loop" does desrve a room to itself as it will be the show case of the route/layout.

My lower staging is complete. Bakersfield is in the final design process, and the bench work is just strarting.

The plan is great

Thanks for the elaboration Chesticus; I would have to say that it is an excellent plan. It's not too ambitious, but it will still take some time. Good luck!

Your welcome. The track show

Your welcome. The track show is just the mainline. I am at the moment revising the Bakersfeild yard, and, when the time comes, I will be making some adjustments to Caliente. As I am working by myself, I am trying to keep it simple, but true in faith to the prototype.

thanks again.

Jim
