Hi

I can not figure out how to remove the boiler and cab from my Bachmann HO 2-6-0 Alco Mogul. My hope is to free them up so as to modify the cab and reposition the headlight and other details... Anyone out there know the secret for separating these parts from the chassis? -Eric8%202(1).jpg

Mogul Boiler Removal

I found a discussion on a Bachmann forum on this very subject.  It seems there a number of somewhat hidden screws that need to be removed.  This link should help explain this further.

Success!

Thank you Rick! I doubt I ever would have found that screw hidden under that snug fitting top of the sand dome! Even knowing about it didn't make it's location obvious when looking at Bachmann's exploded drawing. Very strange. With effort I was able to remove the cab as well... makes take the door panels off a car interior seem like a snap.

Oh well, "Learn by doing!"

I'm hoping I don't have to

I'm hoping I don't have to take my actual 2-6-0 loco apart, I had a hard enough time figuring out how to get into the tender to prepare for replacing a broken wiring harness.

Still waint'in to see if you do somethin.  To me the loco appears to be a Pemco with a drive in the tender. The tender you show looks like a Bachmann. IHC latter released the 2-6-0 loco in many roadnames.

It's a heck of a day
