New Jersey Transit ordered their first AL45DP in 2008. The first of the Tier 3 locomotives were delivered in 2011.

NJT ordered 25 more ALP45DP locomotives in 2017 and 2020. The first of the new batch of now Tier 4 locomotives left the factory in Kassel, Germany in December 2020. Currently more locomotives are delivered.

The leave the factory as road transport to Hamburg as their axle loads (32 metric tons) are to high for the German tracks (max 22.5 metric tons). https://www.dvz.de/fileadmin/user_upload/21b027BXXL1_UT_Bombardier_Kassel_HH-1.jpg

In the Port of Hamburg a floating crane transports the locomotive the last 4 miles to the vessel and loads it. The bridges leading to the pier won't carry the 230 metric tons transport: https://www.thb.info/fileadmin/news_import/26783005_004_26827931_pi_26835122.jpg

Impressive crane and photos

Not sure why they are called Bombardier anymore with the rail division having been acquired by Alstom last January.  No doubt a bunch of big bonus cheques for the fat cats running the company - they are famous for taking bonuses after government bail outs.

Typical Quebec corruption.  Canadians have poured $Billions into this company, keeping it afloat for decades, and now, just as there is potentially some good to come put of these investment with the climate crusades and increasing use of electric locomotives, there it sails over the pond so we can buy them back at twice the price.

Frustrated taxpayer.

Bombardier was only Alstom's

Bombardier was only Alstom's second choice. First choice was a merger with Siemens Mobility but the EU didn't approve it. Reason for both mergers is to become more competetive against the largest rail equipment manufacturer, the Chinese CRRC. Alone Bombardier might have been too small to survive.

Almost everything they owned in Europe were company take-overs. Now they are the victim.

For further using the Bombardier brand for these locomotives there might be different reasons: The order was given to Bombardier, Bombardier might keep its name as an Alstom subsidiary, the merger is not completed yet as Alstom hasn't fulfilled all of the EU's conditions.
