This is the latest update on the lighting project for the Tulsa Union Depot. The lighting for the station building, both floors, and the passenger platforms have been completed.

The video is in three parts for this update: First, the viewing of the lit-up station (both floors) and passenger platforms. Second a viewing and short discussion of the plan (revised to version 4) that was used. Third, a viewing and a short discussion of the control panel that was used.

The only remaining tasks are the lights for the bridges and then organizing all of the wires up and away from the front of the control panel and the adjacent staging yard.

The entire project was done using the Woodland Scenics Just-Plug lighting system. I like the modularity of their system which is why I used it.

Additionally, all of the station windows have glass created by using Microscale Micro Krystal Klear.

Wire Wizard

Hi John,

The night view with lighting on the Union Depot just looks stunning !

A "nightmare" with a happy ending so to see. Very well done and most impressive.

I dream of putting light in some of the structures on my 'AnneliesVille RR' but I don't know if I have the courage and patience as you have. This system seems to fit the purpose.

Thanks for sharing & all the best !

Filip

Thank You

Hi Filip,

I appreciate your comments very much.  It certainly has been a long haul to get the lighting done for the station and the platforms. Now comes the real hard part, the bridges. The bridge lights use magnet wire and will have to be extended to reach the power control panel that will be installed to the right of the existing one. I have two rolls of magnet wire so the only thing that I needed was some additional 1/8 inch styrene tubing (ordered and should be here next week) that will be used to run the wires under the second bridge.

Thanks again,

John

Bridge Lights

Hi Filip,

I ran out of some styrene tubing that I use for routing the wires underneath the road surface so I had to order some.  Since this is the Christmas and New Year's holiday season, the mail has slowed down so thus the lighting for the bridges will be delayed until next month. So stay tuned.

Merry Christmas,

John
