I am getting back to work on a pair of Walther's heavy-duty 12 axle depressed center flat cars. The brake stuff is on the deck, topside, and I'd like to model the piping. I've found a few photos on the interwebs but wondered if there have ever been drawings published in any model magazines on these cars. Even better, if someone has done this and can share some photos of what they did.

Thanks.

8 axle?

I couldn't find Walthers 12 axle car.  I have done several Walthers 8 axle cars with the brake gear added.  Here's one before paint and load.

The "pipe" that ends about in the center of the platform is the trainline and should connect with a flexible hose to another pipe on the main body of the car. That pipe continues around to the side of the car and on to the other end, which is a mirror of this one.

Hopefully, this is helpful,

Paul

12 axle threw me too! You did a nice job on plumbing your car! I use wire insulation to connect lines!4326_n_0.jpg
