I have a couple of Atlas GP-38 engines, one is a newer model and the other is the older version.  I'd like to swap truck side frames.  Does anyone know are these side frames press fit or glued?   Are there any tricks to removing them?  The diagram suggests they should pop out, but if anyone knows before I take a screwdriver to it, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks.

Removal

If it is a Chinese made model, you need to remove the bottom cover first as the sideframes are held in by tabs that lock into the botom cover.  Once it is removed, the sideframs should come off by gently prying. The bronze pickup plate may or may not be fixed to the sideframes as I have seen both ways.

Welcome!

Glad it worked out!  First one I did, I broke those tabs off.  So that's how I found out.  Was easy enough to Order new sideframes at the time but I wouldn't be so sure now!
