One of the concerns expressed recently on the new forum was that the colors make it hard for vision-impared people to see and read it. Muted grays and small fonts ...

If you're on a windows system, press these keys to automatically get a high contrast color scheme: SHIFT + ALT + PRT SCRN ... and voila! High contrast color scheme!

To make the fonts larger, just press CTRL and the plus key several times. Screen grab below of what the new forum looks like with the high contrast setting and fonts made larger:

These settings are universal

The settings discussed above work for anyone using a Windows system. If you have vision issues, it behoves you to learn a few tricks like these to make your browsing experience much nicer. Macs and mobile devices likewise have the ability to set the contrast higher and to make the fonts larger. A google search for your device name and high contrast will show you how. Likewise, search for your device name and font size and you will find out how to make the fonts larger.

Yeah, but…

You can put your OS or browser into high contrast mode.  But most sites are just fine as is, the new one is a bit low contrast.  If that’s a choice you can change, it would be nice to get a little more contrast.  If it’s not, we can live with it.

Ctrl+Mousewheel in Linux xfce

Ctrl+Mousewheel in Linux xfce will zoom the desktop , other Linux desktops have they're own quirky finger entanglements as well.

Personally I just wear + .5 or + 1.00 readers. They work on the other stuff besides the computer.

Making fonts larger is

Making fonts larger is easy.... but making fonts larger doesn't increase the size (or readability/recognisability) of images.... including the images used as icons.

On Mac

If you have eyesight problems there is the Accessibility section in System Preferences.  There should be something similar in other operating systems.
