0Shelves.jpg I have had several requests for instructions/drawings for the Paint/Tool Stand I created and posted on the MRH Website the other day..
3D0F81A.jpeg When I built the stand, I did it without any written plans. I had worked the design in my head, scribbled a few measurements on scrap paper and started cutting wood. This technique works for me, but sucks when a project turns out well and someone else wants to duplicate it.

So, I have created this drawing of my Paint and Tool Stand. Be gentile, this is my first attempt a digital drawing.

Nice

That's a simple but effective design for a paint and tool stand. The only downside is MDF isn't exactly lightweight.

Thanks Joe,

Agree with the weight. Can be made of pine or lighter material for a bit more cost. Upside on the weight, not as likely to accidently knock it off the bench if your sleeve catches one of the tools.

Cheers, Roger

ps. I can do an article if you want. MRH: You bet, please send it in!

Interesting layout. I have been thinking about doing something like that. Have you thought about a lip on the front of the shelves to avoid bottles falling over?

Thanks,

Lou

lighter weight

One could substitute foam to save the weight of MDF.

Nice design. One question though.

I don’t think we need to be kind. It’s a nice simple design, even the worst woodworkers (me) should be able to manage. One question though. Why doesn’t the rearmost board go all the way to the table? The only reason I can think of is to clear a lip on the table where the stand sits, but I can’t make any such lip out in the photos.
