TrainCat Models

I first saw their exquisite kits and built up models at The Springfield Show in the early 2000's they were to the left as you entered the main building.

They had a great oil drilling derrick you could modify to gas, website shows really great light tower.

Now that I am to the point I can use them I got a surprise on the traincat2.com website.

Home page has a banner "BREAKING NEWS Due to the passing of my wife, TrainCat remains in hiatus"

It appears to be from 2010 as webpage from copyright information.

This site has great tips and all the plans for for building their kits.

Does anyone know if they are going to be going back into production, if the business for sale and if anyone would consider buying it? This is a great loss to the modeling community!

I did not...

I did not see them on the January 2020 list of exhibitors. I do remember their location in the Better Living Center. They did have some great looking models.

Sorry to see them disappear...

They have not been at the Springfield show for many years. The last thing they produced was a beautiful kit for the PRR's Whitford bridge a pin connected double track Pennsylvania truss almost 350' long. The kit price was over $2000 !!  I believe they are gone for good. It's a shame as they made some really nice items. ---  Ken
