How to open Rivarossi 2-8-8-2 Tender? Locos and rolling stock

How do I open the tender of my Rivarossi 2-8-8-2?  The sides flex out a little under thumb pressure, but both ends seem fused.  I have already removed the rear coupler and the assembly that was holding it in place.

Looking at The AHM Catalog

It looks like it works the same as my cab forwards. The pin that in in the front of the tender to which you attach your drawbar is the key. It may either unscrew or just pull down/out to release the hold on the underframe. Should be a piece of cake from there.
