Don

I sure hope you are talking about the old forum going away.............not YOU!

OK> An update. I just woke up from a nap and your post was on top. After my panic my head began to clear and I realized that the next few few posts were about the FORUM "going away". Whew!

I rarely take a nap but I gotta tell 'ya that covid booster shot can really be a doozey.

Re: Going away

My "Going away" post was was all about the forum going away.  The photo for when the new forum starts is already in the can.

However, it may take a while for me to figure out how to post and how to change my author name.  I've had enough problems with properly posting to this forum in the last week.

Take care,

Don Mitchell

I've decided it's a win-win situation.  If the new forum works I can keep posting. If it doesn't I can spend more time playing with my trains :> ) ......DaveB

The new forum is based on Discourse

The software behind the new forum is known as Discourse.

Here's what one person posted about moving his forum over to Discourse from a much older forum package.

Quote:

We used vBulletin from 2007 to 2016, the transition to Discourse was smooth ... only a small percentage of members complained about Discourse. BUT once they were used to Discourse and how to use its features, they never wanted to go back.

Thats how I expect it to go with us as well. At first, some will really complain about the move, but ultimately, the consensus will be it's the best update we've done in quite a while.

Turn it back around

Turn it back around, the bridge is out! We encountered a show-stopper with this conversion, so we've unlocked this forum again and once we determine a solution to the issue, we will reschedule the conversion for another time.

We need the conductor

We need the conductor grabbing hooped-up orders from the back porch.
