That looks nice!  Do you have any more build photos?

What era and commodities would be hauled in such a small tank?

Fine modeling

Do you scale your model off the photos?

Seems I remember those were used for anti-knock compound. DuPont and Ethyl had them IIRC.

Keep posting as you progress.

Thanks a lot guys! Yes I have more build photos. I scaled the car off photos and it's a Tetraethyl car. When the hand writing was on the wall, ETHYL moved their cars to Canada, removed the emblem, and changed the  EABX to ECCX.

Thanks,

Very Impressive Work!

Bobby:

That is some wonderful work.  Can you give some details on the components, (commercial, built from scratch, 3D printed)?  I've been 3D printing a similar car and using Tichy components, and there are a lot of similarities between these cars and the car I am doing.

Regards,

Jerry

Tank car build parts.

Thank you Jerry. I used a shortened Athearn 40' tank car frame, 1/32 brass angle to frame for strength, OMI roof walk cut to fit, Tichy 40' walk for the platform floor, Evergreen styrene tube for the bonnet, junk box parts for the brake gear, styrene angles for the platform stanchions and frame ends, and a 3/4" styrene tube with a .015 styrene wrap for the correct diameter. No 3 D printing at all! I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Thank you both, Mike and Vince!

Vince, they came off an old Mantua Heavy tank car I've had for years! Never throw anything away, you might need it years later, yes, I did!

Existing Parts rather than 3D Printing

Bobby always finds a way to kit bash his cars utilizing existing parts rather than having to resort to 3D printing new ones

Thank you!

Thank you! It's not a kit bash, it's a scratchbuild!

Wow

A scratch built car that looks like that at the end. It both fascinates and challenges the average modeler to do better (represented in this case by me).
