The background:
Lionel Strang is known as a former Model Railroader columnist, former TrainMasters TV host, and is currently the Evil Overlord of the A Modelers Life podcast. He's also a Stage 4 cancer survivor. A year after his original diagnosis he decided to celebrate that he had lived "One More Year" by walking 100km (~64 miles) from the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto to his home in Barrie, Ontario. He has since turned it into an annual charity event benefiting the Psychosocial Oncology Unit at Princess Margaret. Assorted model railroad manufacturer's have been supporting him, and this year they were joined by miniprints , who did a full body scan of Lionel to produce 3D-printed Little Lionels (over 100 have been sold) in all of the major model railroading scales. This is what I did with mine... (I printed the St*rmTroopers myself from plans on the internet).

(the "no ketchup on hot dogs" thing is a running joke on the AML)

Link to the St*rmTroopers aka Space Toys

Disney's Intellectual Property machine is to be feared, so these are officially low-poly Space Toys.

You will need to scale them down to whatever scale you are going to use them at - I went with 6-foot for the StormTroopers, and later learned that the canonical StormTrooper is 5'11".

6’ Troopers

Older followers of Australian Rules Football may recall the phrase “Collingwood six footer”. Collingwood is one of the oldest and largest clubs in the competition - the team you either love or hate, there is no in between. Anyway, back when 6’ was considered tall, many Collingwood players who were slightly shorter (5’ 11”) would pass themselves off as 6’, hence the term.

So perhaps the opposite is true, and your models could be “Collingwood 5’11” s)

Jeff you are great, as usual

First, congratulations to Lionel on his walk and charity efforts. I saw the mini Strangs in the the MRH. Pretty cool. Also, let me say that I found your little scene and dialog absolutely hilarious! ROFL!

Just got an email...

Bernard Hellen of miniprints just sent out an email announcing that the sale of the Little Lionel's resulted in a donation of $2187.23 (CDN) to the Psychosocial Oncology Unit at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.

That's a lot of Little Lionel's running around....

Little Bruce's

Now all we need a Little Bruce's, but if you don't want him standing next to Lionel, he should be at his factory: Wilson's Mustards

Little Bruce

Apparently this is on for next year, but the plan appears to be that Bruce the moderately agitated mailboy will be in his traditional pose - seated on a cushion on a milkcrate.

re: Little Bruce

I wasn't sure if he was planned or not, but he could still be sitting on a milk crate outside his factory.

I am so in for Little Bruce . . .

Cause Little Lionel is lonely at my place since all the Cajuns speak weird French to him.
