In this video, among other things, my friend Corey (R's Trains) brought his perfect HO scale (Athearn) D&H 7303. This locomotive first got me interested in railroad history and prototype modelling several years ago as I watched it work in Plattsburgh. 7303 is now on a deadline, but her legacy still lives on...

Having fun With Trains

It's awesome to see your excitement for trains!  It lets us older folks know that the love of model railroading is not dying and not going away.  Keep up the enthusiasm and keep sharing your journey.

I Agree!

...with "slatecreeklogger".

It's refreshing to see model trains from a youthful perspective again! I remember living those years, too! (So many decades ago.) I didn't realize at the time that model railroading would be a lifelong interest.

Whatever you do, keep it fun and enjoy the hobby!

Thank you and good job, Harrison and Corey

There is a lot to appreciate about your video, but a couple of things that really jump out at me are your obvious appreciation for simulating the ponderous pace of prototype movements, and your willingness to share the "pink foam and raw cork" state of your layout. It's easy for us to connect with your imagination when your enthusiasm drives you to expect us to fill in the details just the way I'm sure you do.

I teach middle school math in California, and I use an HO model railroad to help me connect the curriculum to real life experiences. It's great to see younger contributors, I know how much you get into the mindset of this fascinating enterprise!

Jeff, thank you for your

Jeff, thank you for your comment. I've followed along the progress of your middle school railroad, and I think it's the best thing I've ever seen in a school!
