Not of earth-shattering importance, but I've gotten some AccuRail cars on EBay and they have come in their presumably original boxes—and those boxes are yellow. Every Accurail box I've bought in the past ten years or so has been new or essentially new, and they come in white boxes. How old are the yellow ones? It's a matter of curiosity rather than anything else.

20+ years old?

Yellow boxes date to when the company was Accurate Finishing.  Honestly can't say when they switched to white boxes.

Stumbled on these while sifting the stash

8900 Series TOFC Flat Car - yellow box, instructions dated 1997

9200 Series Bi-level Rack - white box, instructions dated 1999

oops

Thanks - I asked the company themselves and they said that it was 1999 that they switched, due to some legally mandated ink reformulations. The yellow came back "pasty and ugly" so they switched to red and white and it's been that way for 22 years...
