Im curious to know what people think about Broadways Paragon decoders?

Would they consist with lok sound fairly well?   I have to admit I dont know much about them.

Dubious

Dear Scott,

BLI decoders have a somewhat "potted" history, with both "ground-breaking features" and "dubious reputation for sound quality and reliability" in apparently equal measure. A quick run with the Search Box at top right of this page with related terms like "Broadway Paragon" will give you an idea.

As far as co-existing with other decoders in-consist,
speed-matching is a challenge for most modellers at the best of times,

and keeping consists constant as far as decoder-choice is really the simplest approach. (Lok has the CV54 "auto motor tune" function, and with a consist (herd?) of so-tuned locos, achieving speed-matching should be reasonably simple. Add an "oddball" to the consist, and,... well...)

The above notwithstanding, Bob Grubba of BLI just did a "new Paragon 4" release video which suggests the latest variants might show some improvement in reliability and usability, so I'd keep a weather-eye open...
