More than 10 years ago I purchased three BLI UP E9s, the "Heritage" units currently on the UP roster.  One of the E9As is an "Executive Series" DCC+sound equipped, but the other E9A and the E9B are "Stealth Series."  I'm building my first DCC layout and I want to equip these two units with decoders.  I'm not particular whether they are sound-equipped or not, but I can't find any recommendation for an appropriate decoder anywhere on the web.  Can anyone help with advice on this?

Also, I haven't popped the shell on either of these units, so I don't know what I'm likely to find inside.  If anyone has a "how-to" sheet or can provide a link to one that would be very helpful.

Thanks, Cal Hickey... a UP fan stranded in the VA Blue Ridge

Stealth Series?

I used to sell a lot of choo choos and I can't say I've heard of that one.  Then again, I sold _very_ few BLI locos that didn't have sound, so they could've slipped that one by me.

The non-sound and "Blue-Line" BLIs I've seen all had 8-pin plugs for a decoder.  But if I were you I'd open one up and eyeball the board before buying any deciders.

If the three engines were sold as a set maybe the two stealth engines have motor-only decoders?  Just a thought.
