Steve Klein

Hi Guys, Do any of you have ideas for mounting flashing cross bucks on a concrete (plastic) base or where to buy them?

I've gone through my scrap stuff and some other pieces but nothing resembles what I'm trying achieve.

Thanx Steve Klein

Square tube

I just went with some appropriately sized square plastic tubes - good old Evergreen styrene.

I don't remember exactly which size I got, but you'll want to measure out what you need for yourself anyway.

Here's a link to what Evergreen makes: https://evergreenscalemodels.com/collections/14-square-tubes

Concrete Base for Crossing Signal

Something like this? I just built it out of strip styrene and filed it some with an emory board to get some roughness to it.  Signal is an Oregon Rail Supply modified for four flashers based on a really old RMC article that scratchbuilt one using the then new LED technology.

Old lengths of rail—

and a worn out locomotive tire!

Shorpy Crossing

Looks like the rail was driven or set into holes and the tops notched to accept the tire. Neat little detail.

Good Luck, Ed
