Thought I would post this warning,...a notice I happened across a long time ago, but it is still applicable today .

Wonderful sign!

I was surprised to see Kval at the bottom of the sign. I grew up near Buffalo a few miles from Kval and my brother and I would go there in the 70’s and 80’s for many supplies for our HO scale railroad. It was run by some very knowledgeable model rr folks. Unfortunately like many of other hobby shops, it is now gone after the 94 year old owner retired after over 40 years in business. It had a vast assortment of all things model rr and was a great place to just browse.

Been around a long long time

Been around a long long time that.  I used to have a T shirt with that saying.  But in America, it not contagious enough.

I still have my sign!!

From K-Val Hobbies!  I sure do miss that place.  When I attended Buffalo State College down the road I would stop there every day I had classes!

framed in red

I framed mine in red years ago.  Placed in train room.

Some times our mates are not too thrilled with Train Stuff in other rooms in the castle.

It Came from Whistle Stop OKC.  OK

Am thinking strongly looking at posting a rules list before folks  enter Train Room.  On Door.

A few weeks ago,  new neighbor came by and invited him to see my main hobby,  He's into fishing.

First attach was on a building.  Picked it up!!!!

No RED light on yet "Anger",  But he was politely led to the door without a word from me of what he just did.

That famous sign brings a laugh.

To some Model Railroading is art form

Omicron seems to have the upper hand right now but hopefully model railroading will prevale.

I’ve had this disease and all it’s variants for almost forty years now.

The neat thing is that this disease is a one I like. And 40?, Shucks, I've had this disease since I was barely able to walk. And that's over 82 yrs, I'm 83. ? So that makes it twice as long as you, Kory. Why so close to birth. Because my mother told me that a week after I was born, I tooted!

Pennsy Nut I’m only 41, so I’m in the same boat. It all started for me when my dad took me to see a local shortline that kept the bicentennial scheme for the rest of its existence. I figure since your call sign is Pennsy Nut I’ll share this with you, my great uncle was the youngest (at the time) fireman for Pennsy, eventually becoming an engineer. He was based out of Kiski Junction and also the original Allegheny Valley Line.

Kory: Thanks for mentioning PRR. Of course, it's my favorite RR. But I sure love all others too. RR is just plain fun. Especially for those of us fortunate to have seen live steam in action. The Broadway Limited and the Twentieth Century Limited going out of Chicago on the race track. But I disagree about the "same boat". My dad couldn't take me to see any RR at "one week old". So my tooting was the giveaway that I was a rail fan. Now known as a SPF. I thought I was clever when I mentioned Tooting at one week of age. I suspect that all babies toot. But only us chosen few get bit by this bug that gives us this terrible disease.

It must be one of those progressive diseases. I always liked trains but never had access to the models when I was younger. I’m in my 40s now and just got hit so hard with this thing! But I really am enjoying it; there is so much to learn including about the prototypes.

Yes. Kind of like cancer. Just that it's a disease that is beneficial. Definitely benign!

Many seem to worry that Model Trains are not contagious enough and that the hobby is dying because of it.

Talk about "the hobby dying".  I just read that two very good friends that are MRs have passed this last year. Both from more than just a month ago. I find it very sad that we don't know about deaths until many months/or years go by.
As for our hobby.  The "many" are sadly mistaken. Look at the activity just in here on these forums. And we are certainly not all the MRs there are. What's the membership on MRH? I click on the hamburger and members and ? WOW! So many I can't count.
As for me:  LONG LIVE THE PENNSY!
