I need help with kitbashing an ho scale roundhouse floor.  I plan on using track with the ties.  What would be the best sizes of styrene to build the floor even with the rails.

Floor

The best sizes would be those that match the thickness of the track.

Measure the thickness of the track from the bottom of the ties to the top of the rail.  Subtract about .010 to .020 to allow the rail heads to be above the floor.  Then subtract the thickness of the flooring you are going to use.

Buy styrene or wood strips to come up with the remaining difference.

Lay  the track. Lay the strips to fill in the area between the tracks.  Put the flooring over the strips  and between the tracks.

metal base plate, then masonite sub-floors

You might look at this solution of mine,...a thin metal plate, then masonite between tracks,....plastic sheeting to be added.
