After many years of not having suitable space for a layout, we are having a block home built here in central Florida (Block is an issue in Florida).

The wife has agreed to let me have the 1 car garage for a train room, and it was her idea. The home will be completed in 45 days and I will post photo updates.

The Proposed layout will be Penn Centrals Fort Wayne Branch which was the old GR&I between Fort Wayne and Richmond Indiana. The location will be Portland, Indiana in the summer of 72. It has always been said that on the FTW Branch it was lumber south and coal north.

Penn Central had a lot of duplicate routes. Some trains would turn at Ridgeville south of Portland and go to Logansport. or they could be routed up the branch to Fort Wayne then on to Chicago. The completion of the north branch in 71  rerouted some traffic away from the FTW branch, although traffic could be routed to any of the 3 lines
