New Changes to ModelTrainItems.com!

There are now two options regarding fees for sellers to choose from. The first is to pay a final sale fee. The original 8% final sale fee has been reduced to 2.8%. The other option enables a seller to permanently bypass the final sale fee entirely.

A new seller can pay a $50 fee upon registration, and subsequently not need to pay anything else for use of the website. If a seller chooses not to pay this fee upon registration, and later changes their mind, a $100 fee can be paid for the same benefit. (For everyone who has already signed up, you will only need to pay the $50 fee if you whish to choose this option.)

I clicked the link

The website doesn’t give names or location of the owners and business. The state the LLC is registered under is not listed either. I like to have some information before blindly buying on a new website.

Does anybody have information about this business? I didn’t see an ad on MRH, either.

Just wondering.

Ads were a few months ago

The ads ran a few months ago -- three two-page spread ads. Pretty extensive.

OK good to know

Probably suggest further development of the website. Could be a useful site, doesn't explain how it works rating system, etc. Maybe they will make a video or post a how to.

Chicken and egg problem

Spinning up a new selling site for the hobby is a huge chicken-and-egg problem. You won’t get a lot of eyes without a lot of items to sell — and you won’t get a lot of items to sell without a lot of eyes. Bottom line, somebody with a lot of items to sell needs to decide the site is worth trying out. Anyone?

A 'little' Background Information

And little enough. If you want to sell something, you have to have something to sell. Throwing up a website and buying ads isn't a business. Transactions, are. Put some money in the business (like, buying inventory, rather than wait for it to come in), and they will come. Confidence breeds confidence.
