The Twin Cities Division of the NMRA is producing a model railroading podcast called The Crossing Gate. There are six episodes published so far. You can find it on your favorite media outlets. Links provided below.

Here is the latest episode.

Episode #6 of the Crossing Gate podcast is out. Jim Rindt, Mike Slater, and Thomas Gasior MMR discuss the state of today's modeling using electrified railroads as a focus. New products have featured some amazing electric motive power. Is this a resurgence in overhead wire modeling? Do you even need an overhead wire to model an electrified line? From Trolleys to interurbans to the Northeast corridor and more. This episode will leave you fully charged.

Thanks for These -- Great Work!

Guys,

Thanks for doing these podcasts.  The first four episodes got me home to San Antonio from Houston a few weeks ago!  Looking forward to catching up on #5 and #6.

Thanks guys

Glad we can entertain you with our banter. Feedback always welcome.

New shows go up on the 2nd and 4th Fridays each month. Interesting episode about ‘submarine projects’ comes out this Friday May 28th. Submarine projects are buried so deep in the to-do pils, they may never reach the surface. How do we deal with these and does it cause stress or on the other hand, bring us joy in just holding these items?

Episode #12 is out. 3D printing possibilities discussion.

In this episode, we dig deep in the resin with Eric Jon Boone. Join Joe Binish, Greg Dahl, Dave Hamilton, and Thomas Gasior MMR. Eric has been working with CAD for many years. He has now combined that skill with the new 3D printers available to all of us and is producing one-of-a-kind boxcars and more for his Pere Marquette layout.  The crew discusses the future of 3D printing plus how it might affect layout planning and building in the future. The real question is, do we all want 100 miniature Joe Binish figures on our layout?

You can find all episodes on out Twin Cities Division website, or download from your favorite podcast feed.

Episode #14 is out. Mistakes will be made.

Mistakes happen, and how you deal with them will define you as a modeler. Do you redo the whole project? Do you push it away and wait for an epiphany to sort it out? Do you move on and sell it or even trash? Or are you a "Sucker for hope?" and will cling to this for a long time.
Join Joe Binish, Thomas Gasior MMR, Dave Hamilton, William Sampson, and Ken Zieska as they discuss their mistakes and favorite recovery method.
