Hello,

It's been a while since my last update from my module. I have purchased some 00 figures and placed some of them on these module. Yesterday I have drawn a CAD file for a halfrelief goodsshed, that I could cut on my laser cutter, that I had bought last christmas. I'm still in the progress of learning. And so I did a testcut yesterday. The result was mixed, as not all of the board lines that I had drawn could be found in the file when I uploaded it to my laser cutter. But I could used the parts as a mockup. Today I have redrawn the CAD File and now all lines for the boards are shown in the software of my laser cutter. So tonight I will start another try.

The mockup of the Goodsshed on the left, here you could see that only a few of the lines for the wallboards were cut. You can also see some people at the distillery and one chap at the loco depot.

What would be Scotland without some sheeps

One of the sheeps have found its way to the small river, and is drinking some water. While in the background two crofters inspect their flock of sheeps.

At the distillery the foreman did an inspection walk through the distillery, while his colleague inspects the empty barrels. I wonder if I should build a small workshop for a cooperage at the empty space left of the barrels. What are your opinions?

Here is the mockup of the halfrelief goodshed. At the righthand side of the track leading to distillery I plan to place some staithes for coal and peat. These could be used by the distillery and for the citizens of my village Uig. Maybe I build a small lean on shed to the goodshed that serves as an office for the small coal yard.

What is 009?

What is 009?  I assume it's not one of James Bonds fellow agents.

Never heard of it.

009

Jim,

That's 4mm scale (1:76) with 9 mm gauge track to represent narrow gauge track between 2' and 2'-6".

Hello Jim 009 is the british

Hello Jim

009 is the british equivalent to H0n30. An 009 track represent a narrow gauge railway with a track width of about two feet.

Looks good!

I've always loved 009 and HOn30 layouts, and this looks great. I also really like how the scenes aren't crowded; with a micro layout like this, it's easy to get carried away and add in too many details, figures, and buildings that would be unfeasible in real life.

Jim, the benefit too of 009 (1:76, running on N scale track) and HOn30 (1:87, on N-scale track) is that you can use commercial track, chassis, and axles for your layout, sourcing from N scale.

Hey, even at my advanced age, I'm still learning new things; my British wife can tell you that!
