Has anyone here heard of or dealt with trainreadyproducts.com?

Thanks in advance,

Skoti.

2014?

Website is a bit old IMO!  Be careful.

Be very cautious

Be very cautious, they haven’t even got a real header on the website yet, they still have the “theme” name as their header. Could be a fly by night operation.

Who are they?

First thing that bothered me about this site is there is no REAL contact information. Only a web form. The age of the site as displayed by the copyright date is a second red flag. I also looked at the coding for the home page and it is behind the times for a modern business. There is no payment method or terms clearly written in any of the pages I looked at. What scale are they selling? Nowhere did I see a reference to scale. All of these indicators would lead me to shy away from this supplier.

My process for dealing with a new internet supplier goes like this.  First and foremost, there MUST be real world contact information on the home page for the site.  Name, physical address, telephone number and email address. I may slide on the email, but the other three are a MUST.  Next I confirm the physical address using Google searches and Google Earth.  I have found some that have used a dirt lot for an address of their business.

The Better Business Bureau can be your friend. Do a BBB search for the address and business name given. The results may surprise you. One comment on this, any business that has been around a while is likely to have a complaint or two. I am not so concerned over DO they have complaints, but rather HOW HAVE THEY ADDRESSED the complaints.

Last, I call the business and talk to them. I can not speak for others, but I have called and talked to a business (not necessarily hobby related) and gotten the feeling I am talking to a snake oil salesman. Talk to them, and go with your gut, it will probably not lead you wrong.

This process can be a bit of a pain, but it has kept my purchases honest and have not had a bad transaction yet (knocks on the real wood desk top).

Findings thus far

I can't actually contact them, as the site doesn't accept my email address

Its a real shame, as it looks like they acquired the old Smokey Valley product line

I had good luck

I placed an order from them a few months ago.  The ordering is a little different.  I emailed the item numbers and description and received an email back confirming in-stock items.  Payment was made through PayPal and I received the items about five days later.

@littlefidler

You wouldn't happen to have their contact email still, would you?

Much obliged littlefidler!
