One of the most anticipated release of a locomotive for me was the RAPIDO M420 as delivered to CN. I don’t think I ever saw a 2500 series only 3500s when the got sold of by CN and started showing up on short lines. I don’t model CN and wasn’t going to wait and see if the 3500s get released. So I bought one to run on the layout. I had built a resin kit quite a number of years ago as HBRY 3548 and it still runs well.  Maybe time to put them in a consist. Thumbs up to RAPIDO .

Like Tim I never saw the M420 when they were 2500 series, only 3500 series later in their CN and shortline careers.  I've got 3 Rapido (more to come if funds allow), 1 Kaslo Shops (3543) and one Overland brass (3530).  Overall the Rapido units have the best detailing although a few things can be improved on (roof vent in the long hood, wind deflectors, treadplate on walkways) they are definitely winners.  I have had some issues with derailments on rough trackage, but that can be fixed with a combination of fixing the rough spots and trimming the worm gear clips by about 1mm to get a bit more side to side equalization.

This was one locomotive I never thought we would see in RTR plastic.  I'm happy it turned out as well as it has.
