Looking for “airbrushing” nothing came up on the TrainMasters TV website.  Had to switch to “airbrush”. Why?  Please get new search tool.

Disappearing videos

I downloaded a number of videos to to use while camping (weathering).  They have disappeared from my ipad.  Do they automatically go away after X time?

Search box in upper right hand corner?

Jim,

The search box in the upper right hand corner right above your username gives plenty of results when using the keyword 'airbrushing'. Greg's link in his post above gives the exact same results as if you typed that in the Google search box directly on google.com.

Disappearing videos: to my knowledge MRH doesn't use any Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems on anything so they could automatically deny a user from opening and viewing a downloaded video (aka "expire"). Even if they used DRM expiration, most all current DRM systems in existence would still show the video in the folder you downloaded in, the video player would simply return an error once you try to play the 'expired' video.

"airbrushing" is a more

"airbrushing" is a more specific search than "airbrush". If  you use "airbrush", you will also get results that contain it, like "airbrushing" and "airbrushed".

search

@Greg, the search box in the top right is the exact thing you mentioned, i.e. typing a query there and pressing search sends you to a site: specific google search...

Not sure why the op got no results though.

For TrainMasters TV, though

The OP is talking about TrainMasters TV in this case, however.

So the proper Google site search would be:

airbrushing site:trainmasters.tv

Here are the results from this search:

https://www.google.com/search?q=airbrushing+site%3Atrainmasters.tv

Doing a search on the TMTV site for airbrushing

If I go to the Catalog page on TMTV, type airbrushing into the search box and press the return key, here’s what comes up ... and it’s far from “nothing” ...

However, airbrushing is a very specific term. A broader and more inclusive term would be airbrush since that includes airbrushing as well as any reference to an airbrush. If I use the broader term airbrush, here’s what I get:

So some of this is the finesse of learning to use the most generic term you can for your topic of interest. This example of airbrushing vs airbrush shows the broader and less specific term yields better results. The very best search results come from using a trainmasters.tv site specific search on Google.

Interesting...

The original post was edited as it did not mention trainmasters.tv site when Greg, Yaron, or I replied to this thread.

I guess we should have picked up on that he was not talking about the MRH site when he did mention about downloaded videos disappearing in his first comment.
