Hi,

is there any chance to be able to mark all forum's messages as read? Sometimes, especially when I'm away from my Mac for a certain time, I feel the need to reset the forums and start from scratch. If I won't read all the messages I left behind, I'd like to reset the "new messages" counter...

Next release ...

Unfortunately, the short answer is "next release".

This site is first and foremost about the magazine - which is job 1 right now. Job 2 is getting advertisers so we can afford to pay people to do things. Job 3 is making the web site forums and blogging so it is feature rich.

Job 3 depends on Job 1 and 2. Gotta crawl before you can walk and all that. We'll get there, so in the meantime you'll just have to make do.

I recognize the Drupal forum is not as feature rich as other forum software, but the overall feature set of Drupal is the best fit for what we have in mind as a web site that will connect to the magazine - you'll see in the next year or two as it all unfolds what we mean. The next release of Drupal will address a lot of the forum shortcomings, plus if we get some decent cash flow, we can pay to have some customizations written as well.

Rome wasn't built in a day, you know. That ought to be an especially meaningful statement to you there, Denny!

VBDrupal

Just wanted to toss this out for next year after things (ie: items 1 & 2) start rolling and get off the ground. Take a look at VBDrupal.  It's a mesh of the Drupal content management system and the really nice VBulletin forum software.
