Great space

Great news to hear the railroad will return from it's hibernation. Looks like a great space to build in with all the creature comforts already there . Congratulations !! ---  Ken

Good news indeed!

Looking forward to what the club does in the future.  I always enjoyed my visits to the NEB&W and hope to do so again.

Wonderful to see

Maybe a visit to the Berkshire Lines can be returned to my bucket list. I wonder if John Nehrich will still be associated with the layout? I certainly hope so.

Hey Bernd,

Thanks for bringing the great news!  Looks like the NEB&W has a great new space!  I can’t wait to see it running!  If I’m lucky in person since its only 120 miles from me.  I have no excuse!!!

How’s the new space relate

How’s the new space relate (size wise) to the old?

Any idea?

From what I remember......

The new space looks bigger in every dimension. It could be an optical illusion though as the old space was dark, chopped up and had a ceiling low enough that you always felt like ducking.

 The new space looks like a great venue for a beautiful layout. Such great news!

@Nick

I was lucky enough to be able to operate on the layouts last gathering. A friend of mine is an alumni and he invited me to operate for the last time before they started taking it apart. I got to run a coal train with two RS-3 Alco's all the way around the layout.

@Doug M,

It's hard to judge. I do believe it's way bigger than the hall they were in previously.

the new space

The new space is bigger and dry! At present Covid restrictions have prevented students from beginning work at the new site.

Will there be another full

Will there be another full time club administrator to replace John Nehrich? I know that he was let go last February under circumstances that were not clear at the time. Rebuilding the layout will be a massive undertaking for volunteer students alone to complete.

No problem, the two of us get mixed up often, and I usually get the better end of the mixup

Really enjoyed meeting you at that Op Session.

The new space looks really

The new space looks really fantastic! After the trials and tribulations of the last year, it's great to see this. I had the good fortune to attend an NEB&W operation session while visiting Albany, and I continue to remember it fondly.
