...is there any online access to them that is NOT the Library of Congress?  I have been trying all afternoon, and I keep getting an error page saying the LOC website is experiencing technical difficulties.  And just to make sure that it isn't my end I reset my connection to the internet.  Even tried using different browsers, still same error.

I am trying to find information on Parker/Parkers Landing, PA and Sarah Furnace, PA.  In particular how did the Allegheny Valley serve these towns when they are on the west side of the Allegheny River and there is little to if any space on the east side of the river in these locations.  I have tried other maps but they don't have the information I need.  Sanborn Maps will be my best bet, and google says they exist, but the links are all to the LOC.

Thanks.

Check local library

I've had great success going to the local library ( county level) that I'm looking for maps at. The bigger problem is you generally need library access from r that particular county. This is where it gets complicated...

For example I live in Kitsap County and have access to Kitsap County Regional libraries, but the territory I'm modeling is one county to the east: King County. King County has access to the Sanborn Maps but Kitsap doesn't...

I would start by a phone call to the library system where you're looking for Sanborn Maps and go from there. Sometimes the state level archives or universities have access to Sanborn Maps but again you need account access.

@Ken L. - LOC Sanborn map site

I couldn't connect to the Sanborn map site at the Library of Congress yesterday either, but it looks like it's back on-line again today.
