Just checking if others have had any issues with these.  They include: 21 pin sound decoder, replacement motherboard, and a speaker and enclosure.  Appears everything is the same across the two TCS kits EXCEPT the speaker enclosures. 

My supplied speaker appeared to have no separation on the solder pads and it appeared the wires were wound together on their way to the coil.  To be safe, I wired things up and used a different 8 ohm speaker I had on hand.

Installed the decoder (removed in pics below so board wiring can b3 seen).  On power up I could hear diesel sounds and eventually got the decoder to respond on channel 3.  Lights worked, horn blew, bell rang, it moved, etc.

I also tried an 8 ohm sugar cube (shown below) that showed no impedance across the coil and it also worked fine, so I decided to try the supplied speaker.  Now I have nothing at all with any speaker I own.

I have an email into TCS, but they are likely backed up from Christmas so thought I would check here.

 I prefer to buy sound equipped but it’s hard to find CP Maroon and gray. By the time I get done with these at $140 each, plus $170 for the decoder kits ...
